St. Louis & Ferguson ,Missouri!

I flew into St.Louis Lambert International Airport and the first thing on my mind was getting into my rental car and seeing the famous Gateway Arch!

The drive to the Gateway Arch from the Airport was roughly 20 minutes. It honestly was very surreal standing under the Arch with my daughter. I've seen this famous monument for years as a kid and now I was right under it with my own child.

I took a few pictures and headed to Sweetie Pies Resturaunt. I seen this show on TV so it was a must to try it out. It has a laid back, soul food, southern vibe to it. It was packed but not much of a wait. I ordered catfish with Spaghetti and Mac & Cheese and it was so good!

The best part of this trip was driving to Ferguson , Missouri which was a few miles from Sweetie Pies. As you know, the city of Ferguson, Missouri, was a flashpoint for nationwide protests since the killing of an unarmed black teenager,Michael Brown, by a white police officer in 2014. Here I was, months later, standing at the makeshift memorial for Michael Brown in the Canfield Green Apartments. It was powerful. I also rode around and saw all of the burned down, destroyed buildings such as the Quicktrip, beauty supply stores and etc from the various protests. This was by far one of the best trips I've ever taken.
