It's been a dream to California every since i was a little girl. So once this trip was booked, I knew I was going to squeeze every once of fun out of California. The occasion was my daughter's 2nd birthday. We had a few days in California and I literally didnt want to leave.
We arrived at LAX and caught the shuttles to the rental car center, which is off site. I remember it being soooooo hot! I rented a Chevy Impala and headed to our hotel. I booked the Hollywood Melrose Hotel, which is located on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. It was very historic with lots of vintage Hollywood artwork all over the place. Not as upscale as I thought, the elevator didnt work and carrying a toddler up and down the stairs wasn't the best.
After checking out the hotel. I ate at Roscoes Chicken N Waffles! I tore that food up like no ones business. It wasnt crowded at all and had a very Mom & Pop vibe about it.
Day 2- I left out early to start or drive to Anaheim California. Whats in Anaheim? DISNEYLAND!
Traffic was so nonexistent and i was glad because Ive heard horror stories about L.A. Traffic. My daughter had a great time at Disneyland, it wasnt much for her to ride so we eventually made our way back to L.A.
After catching a nap at the hotel, we headed to Santa Monica Beach . The boardwalk had rides , food, street art and so much more. We walked down the boardwalk and then headed to the beach. In honor of my daughters birthday, we opened gifts and ate cupcakes until the sun started to go down. We couldn't find and dinner that night so we found the nearest IN & Out Burger (Studio City). & Yes, you definetly want to try an In & Out Burger!
Day 3- I was in total tourist mode on my last full day in L.A. I found the house from my favorite movie, Boyz N Da Hood. It was located on Cimarron Street, Los Angeles.
After that we headed to Hollywood to check out the wax museum.
I had so much fun taking pictures with so many life-like wax figures. Not too far from the wax museum was the Grauman Chinese Theater where you can find the handprints/footprints of your favorite stars.
I ended my day with another beach day at Venice beach which was much MORE NICER than Santa Monica. if youre into skating and biking then this beach is perfect for you and much quieter.
There is definetly a chill vibe in Cali that I can't explain. So chill. I cant wait to visit again.
